XSL follows
the "MDMI" methodologies that its strategic partner
developed over 24 years of consulting and systems implementation.
MDMI is a set of documented proprietary methodologies that
address common types of GIS and information system design
and development projects. These methodologies are organized
into a series of modules, each defining steps and processes
for a specific project scope.
The benefit
of MDMI is that the standard methodology descriptions provide
a uniform documentation of the approach used for the most
important and frequently used administrative and consulting
practices. MDMI is used both for training as starting points
for assisting clients cost-effectively and efficiently.
Documented
methodologies fall into the following business activity categories:
- Needs
analysis/planning
- System
acquisition and implementation
- Database
development
- Application
development
- Business
process re-engineering
- Organizational
structure and staffing
- Pilot
projects
- Special
consulting projects
- Internal
management procedures
- Client/prospect
relations and communications
- Document
preparation and management procedures and standards
- Proposal
preparation and submittal.
